The main objective of this project is to develop a method combining interdisciplinary collaboration, art-based research and intercultural exchange to support “just transition” initiatives at local level. First, the students from the partner universities will be trained in interdisciplinary work, by combining the theoretical and methodological contributions of social work, cultural and social anthropology in a common field: the socio-ecological transformation of the Heineken brewery site in Schiltigheim - scheduled to close in 2026. Second, the students will be trained in the scientific uses of audiovisual media. Students will be divided into interdisciplinary groups, and will work in three master-classes dedicated to photography, video and sound creation. Third, the students from the partner universities will be trained in working in an intercultural and multilingual context. The students’ supervision will be led in German, English and French, but Strasbourg is also a multicultural city (21 % of the cities’ residents are immigrants). For their work, students will have to deal with inhabitants and experts using different languages (French, German, English, Alsatian – regional language – and other languages).
