Tenure-track positions in German and European Studies at the University of Haifa

The Haifa Center for German and European Studies (HCGES) at the University of Haifa seeks to fill two tenure-track positions, starting in February 2021 or at a later, agreed-upon, date.

This search is open on all sub-fields of contemporary European and German Studies. Junior and senior scholars are encouraged to apply.

The position will be anchored half in the HCGES and half in the department that reflects the  disciplinary background of the candidate, such as, but not limited to:

➜ law
➜ sociology
➜ political science
➜ history
➜ cultural studies
➜ economics
➜ public health

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree at the time of hire, demonstrate an active research program and output, indicating the potential for outstanding scholarship. Furthermore, applicants must demonstrate a clear focus on German and/or European topics in their research.

Successful candidates will be expected to teach and supervise students at the Master and PhD level at the HCGES in English as well as undergraduates and postgraduates in the respective department. Command of Hebrew is necessary and will need to be acquired within a few years of arrival.

The recruitment and appointment procedures will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the University of Haifa and are subject to the approval of the university authorities. The university is not obliged to appoint any of the candidates who apply for the position.
