Junior conferences
A UNIQUE SINGLE SOURCE OF FUNDING TO SERVE YOUNG FRANCO-GERMAN RESEARCHERS
The Junior Conference Funding Programme allows young researchers to organise a scientific event independently, while benefiting from personalised support by CIERA. It responds to the growing demands of career professionalisation faced by PhD students and post-doctoral students.
Such junior conferences should be held at a CIERA member institution and should promote interdisciplinary discussions around presentations by young researchers.
TWO OBJECTIVES:
- To help young researchers enrolled in CIERA to highlight their own scientific ambitions and to join more fully the Franco-German scientific community of humanities and social sciences.
- To allow them to acquire project management skills, in addition to the intellectual skills related to their scientific work.
A DEDICATED TRAINING WORKSHOP
Each year CIERA organises a workshop entitled “Organising a Scientific Meeting”, to inform and guide future project coordinators in the organisation of their event. It provides a methodological introduction to general project management principles.
Future teams organising junior conferences are invited to participate.
